Ceremonial use of the sacrament, psylocibin, is like the gift that keeps on giving. My life has been altered (pun intended) for the better since I’ve developed my relationship with the magic fungi. Most who have experienced psychedelics in an intentional way understand this. In the past it was believed that just “anti-war hippies” were in search of this altered state of consciousness through plant medicines. However, that has been debunked by countless research papers. These entheogenic plants have helped us cultivate and understand our relationship with God / THE ALL and our world. I do not propose that entheogenic plants are the only way to reach this altered state of consciousness, but it is a major one. As they all are, when approached sacredly.
According to Alan Watts “[Mystical experiences are] those peculiar states of consciousness in which the individual discovers himself to be one continuous process with God, with the Universe, with the Ground of Being, or whatever name he may use by cultural conditioning or personal preference for the ultimate and eternal reality.” Mystical experiences initiated by the use of psilocybin have been studied at length and proven empirically. Studies have found physiological changes in the brain that are lasting. This not only helps with depression and anxiety but also at countering addictive behaviors.
From a philosophical viewpoint, I believe the changes occur because the plants help us remember our own divinity, and thus remember what it feels like to feel infinite. Even if only for a moment. That moment will never be forgotten… how could we forget it?
The planet Earth has so many beautiful blessings and challenges that it’s easy for us to get lost. Not only that, it appears at times, that many powers are conspiring to mislead us. However, that only awakens us to our own internal compass. The use of the sacrament, psilocybin, helps with that awakening process. As Jesus said, “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Let’s break that sentence down… The New Testament’s original translation is in Greek. Greek is arguably the most specific and literal language. The word repent is written as “Metanoia” – which means roughly expand your mind. The next part of the sentence implies Heaven is here… for if something is at hand it’s in our midst or coming very soon. This implies that when we can alter our perception, then heaven is there. The word repent implies that our current way of seeing is not accurate, which is consistent with Jesus’s other esoteric quotes such as “They see but don’t see, they hear but don’t hear.”
Altering our perception is a divine command from Jesus. Knowing what we do about the medicinal and psychological benefits of psilocybin, it makes sense to me that psilocybin would be an acceptable route towards connecting with the Divine Source. Mycellium is considered the internet of the plant world. Why would a mushroom not be able to connect our minds to a greater world?
We are all searching for the divine in some form or another, even if not consciously. What we distract ourselves with prevents this connection. However, when done consciously, it can be such a powerful tool. That’s why the Navy SEALs and Google pay unimaginable dollars to get their members into the flow state that’s parallel with a mystical experience. There’s an interconnectedness that anybody who has been in group flow knows. Those who have sat with us in ceremony have experienced the collective consciousness and group connectedness. Skeptics of the divine had opened their minds to new possibilities since sitting in one of our ceremonies. We invite you to experience to come experience the same.
